  • Big companies visit the campus only on evaluating the credentials of our college. Hence not only good infrastructure but a good brand image is must.
  • Smaller companies visit the campus on request, depending upon their requirements.
  • The placement office keeps approaching the companies throughout the year.
  • Students may help the placement office by suggesting potential companies and possible contact persons.

Selection criteria

Academics

  • Many companies permit only students with 70% and above to attend aptitude test.Some may even ask for 75% and above marks.
  • Failure in any semester in any one subject is liable for rejection.
  • Points to Ponder:Good,consistent academic record is the bottom line

Academic Test/Group Discussions

  • Most of the companies conduct aptitude test which combine technical and general issues.
  • Technical issues means mostly proficiency in c language.
  • General means language skills and reasoning.

Points to Ponder:

  • C-proficiency does not mean 80% in C-exam,but project experience and knowledge of practical implementation issues.
  • General aptitude skills could be improved by way of preparing for GRE&TOEFL.Those who cannot afford (in true sense) might approach the career guidance cell coordinator or the staff advisor for the department .The department is keen to provide training.
  • Make use of language lab facility in library through english department. The language lab has multimedia software and systems to support TOFEL preparation,which can help you improve vocabulary and ability to participate in group discussion.

Objective is to test

  • Communication skills
  • Interviews are conducted not just to get the correct answer,but mostly to identify the students who have the ability to face things.
  • Answer must be precise(may be/will be to be avoided) and consistent.

Points to Ponder:

  • Technical knowledge can be projected by way of submiting/presenting Technical papers and Mini projects.
  • Domain knowledge in area of interest.
  • Knowledge in current trends is essential.
  • Visit to library, refer journals/webs in the net.
  • Knowledge in datastructure,operating system is a must.
  • Communication skill improvement is possible if one practices speaking in english-presents his ideas on non-technical issues in the club meetings- ignore teasing or demotivations.

Specific suggestions for good interview performance

  • Be proud of your department,your college and your country.
  • Have a positive outlook of whole event.
  • This is not the end of live. What one deserves/needs, he/she will get it.
  • Never be envious of those who are placed/ Never look down upon those who are not placed.
  • Over and above curricular and co-curricular activities, extracurricular activities will also improve your changes.

Points to Ponder:

  • These skills could be developed only through sustained practice.
  • By attending skill development programs with genuine interest.
  • Choose one or two areas of extra curricular activities being promoted in the college and achieve credentials over a period.

Off Campus Placement:

  • Placement office might arrange off campus interviews also in rare cases. For immediate passed batch students is definitely being organised.
